On December 23, 2024, CODP celebrated Birth of Christ Jesus with their beloved neighbors, stakeholders, and friends at CODP’s Mother Teresa Hall.
The program began with a warm welcome from Fr. Vincent D’Souza, Director of CODP, who wholeheartedly thanked everyone for attending the celebration.
The Christmas celebration commenced with a heartfelt prayer song, beautifully rendered by invitees Mr. Rony Crasta and his daughter, Ms. Rishal Melba Crasta, setting the tone for a joyful and spiritual celebration. To further delight the gathering, refreshing juice and delicious cake were served, sweetening the festive atmosphere.
As the gathering savored the festive treats, Fr. Lawrence Cutinha, Assistant Director of CODP, shared a profound message on the true spirit of Christmas. He emphasized that Christmas is a season of “love in action,” where kindness, compassion, and generosity come alive. Fr. Cutinha reminded everyone that Christmas is more than just decorations and gift-giving; it’s a celebration of joy, hope, and the values that bring people together.
The sisters from Bethany Convent mesmerized the audience with a beautiful devotional dance, commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ. Their graceful movements and expressions added a touch of serenity and joy to the Christmas celebration.
The Christmas celebration also witnessed the recognition of outstanding contributions. Sr. Aileen Mathias from Olavina Halli was felicitated for her selfless service in the field of social work, while Mr. Ethan Paul Mascarenhas was honored for his remarkable achievements in sports.
Additionally, CODP staff members who demonstrated exceptional dedication and commitment to their work, taking minimal leave, were gifted tokens of appreciation, acknowledging their hard work and perseverance.
The entire program was orchestrated by Mrs Veena D Souza and the vote of thanks was proposed by Ms Priya Lobo.
