Selection of 8th std students for Youth Empowerment Training 2016-17 was held simultaneously in eight centres of Mangalore Diocese on 3rd July 2016. In all the centres, the students and their parents were given an orientation on ‘YET’ followed by Aptitude and General knowledge tests.
Students from City, Episcopal and Permannur deaneries attended the programme in CODP, Mangaluru. YET programmes at 7 other centres was held as follows:

At the programme held in CODP, the Director Rev. Fr. Oswald in his welcomed the participants, introduced the Resource person Mr. Patrick Braggs, and then explained in detail the background and objectives of YET. He also gave a brief introduction of various other activities which are being conducted by the CODP
Mr. Patrick Braggs, in his talk, explained about the main objective of conducting the YET programme. He also explained about why the Christian youth should try to get government jobs and the benefits which a government job offers.
After the motivational talk, Mr. Patrick Braggs and Mrs. Venisha conducted Aptitude and General Knowledge tests for the students of 8th standard who participated in the programme. Total 46 students were present at the programme held in CODP.
