Inauguration of Community Development Polytechnic (CDPT) Courses at RUSEMP, Pakshikere

Community Polytechnic course sponsored by WPT Bondel, was inaugurated at RUSEMP Community College Pakshikere on 29th September 2016 at 4.00 p.m. Members present on the dais were Mr. B.N. Kambar, the Principal of WPT; Mr. Shivprasad Rai, the Co-ordinator of WPT, Rev. Fr Vernon Vaz of CODP, Mangaluru and Mr Rohitaksha Acharya, Head Staff of RUSEMP.

The programme began with words of welcome by Mr Rohithaksha, the Workshop Foreman and Instructor at RUSEMP, who underlined the need and the benefits obtained in participating in this programme. The programme was then inaugurated by symbolically lighting the lamp.

Mr Kambar gave the trainees his message wherein he outlined the course content as well as the salient features of the training programme. Those who enroll themselves under these courses are entitled to obtain government recognized certificates under Community Polytechnic scheme.  The WPT is conducting this kind of courses in collaboration with various institutions and NGOs.  RUSEMP Community College of Pakshikere is one among them.  Besides imparting trade skill training, the scheme requires imparting of soft skills as well, to the participants.  He acknowledged that RUSEMP Community College imparts soft skills through its management skill training.

For this academic year the WPT has approved three course under community polytechnic scheme at RUSEMP viz, AC Mechanic, General Automobiles and Electrician & Plumbing.

Rev. Fr. Vernon Vaz addressed the gathering and exhorted the trainees to do their best and make proper use of this training. He thanked the instructors of St. Joseph Engineering College, Vamanjoor for conducting classes in Electricals, Automobile Mechanics and Air Conditioning. He also acknowledged and thanked RUSEMP’s collaborators viz., VRDF and SKIP.

Mr. Joseph K.P., tailoring instructor, thanked all those who organized this programme.  Ms Sushmitha, office secretary at RUSEMP compered the programme.

The programme concluded with the National Anthem.
