During their visit to the Canara Organisation for Development and Peace (CODP) in the Diocese of Mangalore, the newly ordained priests gained deep insights into grassroots social service and community empowerment initiatives. They learned how CODP tirelessly works to uplift the marginalized through various welfare programs, including child and family sponsorship, educational aid, and community development. A key highlight of the visit was understanding how CODP acts as a bridge for the poor by effectively tapping into and channeling various central and state government schemes—such as labor welfare provisions, livelihood support, and social security benefits—ensuring that underprivileged families and rural communities can access the financial and developmental aid they rightfully deserve.
