Occupational English test (OET)

CODP organized an orientation programme on Occupation English Test (OET)conducted by Edu Skills International on 9.8.2022 venue -CODP Mangalore. The said test is held for those who are health professionals especially nurses. The program was  organized under the leadership of Rev Fr Vincent D’souza, Director CODP. The staff of CODP and ISD were present. The programme was very informative to the benefit of the participants. After brief introduction about the activities of CODP by Program Manager Ms Lenet Gonsalves,  Fr Vincent  spoke about the importance and benefits of the OET program.

The resource person of the day was Rev Fr Saleen Joseph, certified Tutor for OET. Brain storming sessions with interaction were conducted for the health professionals in order to keep them engaged and also understand how much they picked up from the program. The feedback was very good and the students actively participated in the session. Totally 77 Students participated offline and 215 who had filled forms through Goggle sheet watched the program online from  foreign countries Viz United kingdom, Saudi Arabia , Kuwait Australia etc

Yet another program was conducted on 24 and 25 October 2022 at CODP Mangalore. This was a free seminar on OET –strategies and tips for health professionals. Rev Fr Vincent D’souza  welcomed Fr  Saleen Joseph,  certified Tutor for OET. Sr Aileen Mathias vice principal of Athena institute of health sciences Mangalore was the chief guest in the seminar. Fr. Vincent explained about the importance and objectives of the seminar.

Sr Aileen explained about the right attitudes the students should possess. She further said that the students should first develop themselves and then only could they help others. She said that the work of health professionals is hard work and put much stress on the right type of attitude the health professionals should adopt. She concluded by wishing success to CODP OET free online coaching which has a batch of 120 students.

After this Fr Saleen Joseph mentor of Edu skills international took up the session. He delivered the input through talks on OET, group discussions presentations, interaction and online program.

The OET program was a new program  started by CODP. Normally such programmes are conducted for the elite students but  CODP has started  this program for the rural and poor students who are in the field of health care .The sessions were not only attended by locals  but also by students from foreign countries who participated on online mode The OET program was conducted to help the health professionals who want to go abroad to work there. In this way it will help them to earn good income for them and help their families to come up in life and also help the community as a whole. The coaching is held offline as well as online as per needs.

The students actively participated and made the program more lively. The interactive session was also very good. The program concluded with a vote of thanks to the resource person.
